On Monday, CNN reported that FBI agents have executed a search warrant at former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago country club in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to Kaitlan Collins, the former president confirmed the raid to CNN in a statement laden with angry tirades against Democrats and law enforcement.
"These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home ... is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents," said Trump. "Nothing like this has happened to a President of the United States before ... They even broke into my safe! What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat [sic] National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States."
"The political persecution of President Donald J. Trump has been going on for years, with the now fully debunked Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, and so much more, it just never ends. It is political targeting at the highest level!" He then went on to whine that Hillary Clinton never got served with a warrant by the FBI and was "allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 emails" and "even took antique furniture" from the White House.
"The lawlessness, political persecution, and Witch Hunt must be exposed and stopped," Trump concluded. "I will continue to fight for the Great American People!"
It remains unclear what the FBI was searching for, but it comes as Justice Department officials continue to investigate Trump for his role in the plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election. A separate DOJ investigation is looking into whether classified documents were improperly removed as the former president left the White House.

Legal expert slams Trump allies for pushing 'empty political promise' to undo his Wisconsin loss
August 08, 2022
On Monday's edition of MSNBC's "Deadline: White House," former solicitor general Neal Katyal discussed the latest push by former President Donald Trump and his allies to "decertify" President Joe Biden's 2020 win of the state of Wisconsin.
The premise, which is a core dispute as Wisconsin GOP voters decide the gubernatorial primary, makes no sense, argued Katyal.
"I can't help but think that if you watch these events unfold in our politics and you think to yourself that there could be some kind of a way to, like, decertify these arguments, like just kind of a priori, they should be knocked out of our politics," said anchor John Heilemann. "This is not a question of opinion or where you stand on public policy. This is not a doable thing. Why are we discussing it in any context right now in the state of Wisconsin?"
"I completely agree," said Katyal. "This Wisconsin primary is a really good illustration of how Trump and the Republican Party have succeeded in normalizing a brand of basically post-truth politics that allows them to blow off facts that they find inconvenient. And so, you say, there should be some way to decertify these claims, and there is. 62 different courts, federal and state, including the U.S. Supreme Court, which is not exactly in Joe Biden's pocket, ruled against them time and time again. And so, the — what the Trump people are saying is, well, look, the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which is quite a — it's a very conservative court, in July, said that the drop boxes that were used in the 2020 election were illegal, and these were the drop boxes that were used during the COVID pandemic. And the result of this, they say, is, well, let's throw out the hundreds of thousands of people who voted that way."
That idea, said Katyal, is "an unconscionable argument."

"In elections law, the touchstone is always trying to give effect to the will of the voters, and they just want to toss out all these ballots," said Katyal. "Now, that's something that might work in, like, the Soviet Union, but it's as profoundly un-American as you can get ... even if it were right, there's no backsies here. There's no way to get a redo and do the election again. You know this is basically an empty political process by these people in Wisconsin. There's no mechanism whatsoever to take back the certification. These promises are literally ones that these candidates cannot keep, which takes, I guess, election politics to a whole other level."

Anne Heche's representative has announced that she is currently in critical condition and in a coma. The actress has a collapsed lung necessitating a ventilator, TMZ reported.
"Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention," the rep said.
On Friday, Heche barrelled into a house and was involved in at least 2 hit-and-runs before the SUV caused a massive fire in the house and vehicle.
Police think that she was under the influence and have been able to obtain a warrant to take a sample of Heche's blood which will determine if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
After a breakup in 2000 with actor/ talk show host Ellen Degeneres, Heche went on a bender and ditched her SUV along a dusty road in Fresno, California, she told People. She walked through the desert until she reached a home and begged the owner to let her in and take a shower. The woman called police. When they arrived, Heche claimed that she was God and intended to take everyone to heaven in a spaceship. She ultimately revealed she had taken ecstasy.
"I was told to go to a place where I would meet a spaceship. I was told in order to get on the spaceship that I would have to take a hit of ecstasy," Heche explained to ABC. She explained she wasn't a drug user. "Fresno was the culmination of a journey and a world that I thought I needed to escape to in order to find love."
In a 2001 interview with ABC, she swore that she wasn't "crazy," despite claiming for two years that she was two people, one of whom was from another planet.
