'I'm embarrassed for Colorado': Hospital CEO in Lauren Boebert's district trashes her COVID response
In an interview aired on Thursday, CNN's Gary Tuchman spoke to Andy Daniels, the CEO of Memorial Regional Health in western Colorado and a self-described "super-conservative," about the attacks on science and public health by his congresswoman, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) — and Daniels had a few scathing things to say about her.
"How does it make you feel, the way Representative Boebert has treated this pandemic?" asked Tuchman. "The masks? The vaccine?"
"I am embarrassed for Colorado, quite frankly," said Daniels. "I am embarrassed that she is my representative."
"So, you are the CEO of an important hospital in her district, and you are willing to go out on a limb and say that?" asked Tuchman.
"I am," confirmed Daniels. "I think if you are going to take a stance in healthcare policy, you might actually want to learn something about healthcare policy."
Boebert has attacked President Joe Biden's proposal to send door-to-door volunteers to encourage vaccination, demanding the government not come to her door with the "Fauci Ouchie," and caused a stir this week for throwing a face mask at a congressional staffer who offered it to her on the floor.

Donald Trump is lashing out at Capitol Police officers who survived the January 6th insurrection, according to a new report in The Daily Beast.
"In his retelling, Ashli Babbitt—who was shot and killed trying to enter the House chamber on Jan. 6—wasn't so much a rioter as she was an 'innocent, wonderful, incredible woman.' And, in Trump's mind, some of the police officers who defended the Capitol that day aren't the real heroes, calling them liberal 'p*ssies' who loathe MAGA, and outliers within a broadly pro-Trump law enforcement community," The Beast reported.
The report was based on two sources who spoke with reporters Asawin Suebsaeng and Sam Brodey under the condition of anonymity,
"Trump has also maintained that these men seem 'broke[n]' by the events of Jan. 6, and that they do not have the supposed toughness or character of the law enforcement officers who, on the whole nationally, still widely support Trump and his policies," The Beast reported. "According to these two people, and another source with knowledge of the matter, the twice-impeached former president has also alleged that these particular police officers are letting themselves be used as pawns by anti-Trump Democrats, like Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), or simply despise Trump and are Democrats themselves."
D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, who testified on Tuesday before the House select committee to investigate the insurrection, has said publicly that he voted for Trump in 2016.
MAGA rioter bragged that breaking into Pelosi's office was 'best day of his life' to coworkers: feds
A supporter of former President Donald Trump has been arrested after he bragged about breaking into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the January 6th Capitol riots.
In a criminal complaint (PDF) released.on Thursday, an FBI special agent alleged that New Jersey man Donald Smith was turned in by a coworker who left a message on the FBI's online tip portal.
"I work with a man who showed up with pictures and video of him and others storming the White House," the tip read. :He says he was in Nancy Pelosi's office and that it was the best day of his life. I do not condone these actions and would like to report him. His name is Donald Smith and we work at UPS in Lawnside NJ. I have a picture of him
One day later, another person who knew Smith turned him in and sent the FBI a photo that they captured of Smith at the Capitol that they saw on TV.
These tips led the FBI agent to review security footage taken from inside the Capitol and positively identify Smith to verify his presence at the riots.
He has been charged with unlawfully entering the Capitol building and disrupting official government functions, among other charges.
