Hundreds of Iowans thrown out of public tax hearing
Hundreds of Iowans were thrown out of a public tax hearing in Iowa’s State House on Tuesday. Lawmakers ordered the room cleared after they were interrupted several times.
The hearing was to debate a proposal that would have ended the practice of deducting the amount paid in federal income taxes from Iowan’s state taxes. Democrats have proposed a lower state income tax rate to compensate for the change.
