MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski responded to complaints from viewers after she said that Sarah Palin connected to "real Americans."

"Look at the polls out there. Look where people stand on life. Look where real Americans think and you will find -- no. You will find that in, you know -- god I had to say it -- that in the cities where there are a little bit more liberal elite population you're not going to find what is representative of America," said Brzezinski.

Moments later Brzezinski was forced to explain. "We're getting some emails -- just a few," she joked.

"Some people are upset with something you said," explained co-host Joe Scarborough.

"I think her views actually do [connect with real American]," said Brzezinski.
