Olbermann mocks ‘culture warrior’ O’Reilly for allegedly reading Playboy in front of children
Bill O’Reilly, the self-branded “culture warrior” who purports to stand for “traditional values,” allegedly has a thing for Playboy magazine.
Upon leaning this, MSNBC’s liberal host Keith Olbermann couldn’t resist taking a pot shot at his old arch-nemesis, giving the right-wing pundit his “Worst Person” award even in the face of a cynical attempt by a Republican Senator to use Keith’s politics for a fund-raising effort.
O’Reilly, who was himself interviewed by Playboy in 2002, is no stranger to allegations about sexually lewd materials. He allegedly sexually harassed a former Fox News producer, resulting in a lawsuit carrying particularly graphic details about what O’Reilly wanted to do to the woman.
Olbermann said that O’Reilly was allegedly thumbing through the adult magazine in clear view of other passengers and children on the flight.
O’Reilly’s Web site declares that he “sees that America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a ‘secular-progressive’ country,” claiming that he “clearly fights the good fight for the soul of America.”
Olbermann’s claim that O’Reilly was reading Playboy on a recent flight is based on information provided by a single, unnamed source: a fact Mediaite noted and chided the anchor over.
“Since when is Olbermann working for TMZ, taking his only ‘source’ from an anonymous passenger?” writer Drew Grant sarcastically asked. “Everyone knows Bill O’Reilly rides a solid gold plane by himself, powered only on the fuel of self-righteousness.”
Given recent events and the right-wing pundit’s outspoken nature, one might be given cause to wonder what role tasteful nudes and falafel fantasies may yet have to play in O’Reilly’s vision of the future America.
