Bill Clinton: Rush Limbaugh ‘doesn’t make any sense’
Rush Limbaugh has said that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will be responsible for any future domestic terror attack. Bill Clinton fired back Sunday saying that Rush Limbaugh “doesn’t make any sense.”
Limbaugh had taken exception to language Clinton used while speaking about the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. “The words we use really do matter, because there’s this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike,” said Clinton.
Limbaugh almost immediately lashed out at Clinton on his radio show. “If there is a future incident such as Oklahoma City, the blame is squarely on the shoulders of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who I’m sure is coordinating Clinton’s appearance on this,” said Limbaugh.
“Bill Clinton just gave the kooks out there an excuse to be violent,” he continued. “The New York Times has reported national security secrets, they are responsible for any terror attack on this country, they have published all kinds of battle plans… and yet they sit here, Clinton and Obama, and try to blame me, and us on the radio, for something that has not happened while setting the stage for it to happen.”
Speaking to ABC’s Jake Tapper, Clinton said that Limbaugh didn’t know what he was talking about. “Only point I tried to make is that when I went back and started preparing for the 15th anniversary of Oklahoma City, I realized that there were a lot of parallels between the early ’90s and now, both in the feeling of economic dislocation, and the level of uncertainty people felt. Rise of identity politics. The rise of the malitia movements and right wing talk radio with a lot of what is going on in the blogosphere now, and in the right wing media,” Clinton said.
