Bill Clinton: Rush Limbaugh ‘doesn’t make any sense’
Bill Clinton fired back at radio host Rush Limbaugh Sunday, saying the conservative talker “doesn’t make any sense” in an exclusive interview with ABC.
Limbaugh said Friday that Clinton and Barack Obama will be responsible for any future domestic terror attack after taking exception to language Clinton used at an event that morning while speaking about the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing.
“I’m going to state right now, if there is a future incident such as Oklahoma City the blame is squarely on the shoulders of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama,” Limbaugh said on his radio program Friday.
“Bill Clinton just gave the kooks out there an excuse to be violent,” he continued. “The New York Times has reported national security secrets, they are responsible for any terror attack on this country, they have published all kinds of battle plans… and yet they sit here, Clinton and Obama, and try to blame me, and us on the radio, for something that has not happened while setting the stage for it to happen.”
Speaking to ABC’s Jake Tapper on This Week, Clinton said that Limbaugh doesn’t know what he was talking about.
“Only point I tried to make is that when I went back and started preparing for the 15th anniversary of Oklahoma City, I realized that there were a lot of parallels between the early ’90s and now,” Clinton said. “In the feeling of economic dislocation, and the level of uncertainty people felt, the rise of identity politics, the rise of the militia movements and right wing talk radio with a lot of what is going on in the blogosphere now, and in the right-wing media.”
In his speech to the Center for American Progress, Clinton warned that “the words we use really do matter, because there’s this vast echo chamber, and they go across space and they fall on the serious and the delirious alike. They fall on the connected and the unhinged alike.â€Â
