There was plenty of swearing on cable news on Monday as prime-time hosts reported on the protests in Minnesota following the police killing of Daunte Wright.
On CNN, Sara Sidner was confronted by a protester who refused to believe she was airing live.

Trump denies snubbing Matt Gaetz — but offers no defense of the embattled Florida man
April 12, 2021
On Sunday evening, CNN published yet another story on the scandals swirling around Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
"Rep. Matt Gaetz, who's facing a federal investigation into sex trafficking allegations, was recently denied a meeting with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate as the ex-President and his allies continue to distance themselves from the Florida congressman. Two people familiar with the matter said Gaetz tried to schedule a visit with Trump after it was first revealed that he was being investigated, but the request was rejected by aides close to the former President, who have urged Trump not to stick his neck out to defend Gaetz," CNN's Gabby Orr, Dana Bash, and Kevin Liptak reported.
<p>
A spokesperson for Gaetz denied requesting a meeting. More than 24 hours after it was published, Trump released a statement through his PAC.</p><p>
"Fake News CNN, relying on all anonymous sources, meaning they probably made the whole thing up, wrote a very dishonest story claiming Congressman Matt Gaetz asked for a meeting with me at Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, and was denied. This is completely false," Trump claimed.</p><p>But instead of defending Gaetz, Trump instead went on to attack Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who has nothing to do with the sex trafficking allegations against Gaetz.</p><p>Republicans have largely refused to defend Gaetz and even though Trump issued a statement on the topic, he did not bother to offer a defense.</p>

Daunte Wright's shooter was 25-year police veteran on Brooklyn Center negotiation team: report
April 12, 2021
On Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune identified the police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota after allegedly mistaking her gun for her taser as Kimberly Potter, 48.
And far from being a rookie on the force, Potter is a longtime veteran of the department who has worked in high-profile policing roles.
<p>"Potter was first licensed as a police officer when she was 22 years old and soon became a Brooklyn Center police officer," said the report. "Among her duties during her tenure with the Brooklyn Center Police Department has been serving on the force's negotiation team."</p><p><span></span>"In a previous fatal shooting of a man in the Minneapolis suburb in August 2019, Potter was among the first to arrive at the scene where Kobe Dimock-Heisler died after he allegedly rushed at officers with a knife in a home," said the report. "Potter instructed the two officers involved 'to exit the residence, get into separate squad cars, turn off their body worn cameras, and to not talk to each other,' according to an investigative report from the Hennepin County Attorney's Office. Both officers' actions were found to be justified, and no charges were filed."</p><p>The death of Wright, in the same metropolitan area where George Floyd was killed last year, has triggered a fresh wave of angry <a href="https://www.rawstory.com/brooklyn-center-daunte-wright-vigil/" target="_blank">police brutality protests</a>, in defiance of a county-wide curfew.</p>
