Bloomberg: New York may lose 6000 teachers
In his ongoing battle with Albany over budget cuts, Mayor Bloomberg asks the state to restore part of the budget cut to public schools, or an estimated 6000 teachers will be lost.
Bloomberg says that New York is “ready to do our part to help the state, but we all in the city do not want to be penalized for our responsible management. We’re asking state leaders to restore a small portion of the cut in education aid to New York City public schools.”
