Soon-to-be-indicted former President Donald Trump spent part of Saturday golfing, being whisked to the course from Mar-a-Lag in a motorcade.
He also spent time utilizing his latest grievance to grift his supporters financially.
Trump fans rallied outside the golf course to show their support for the former president.
“This is pretty much a typical Trump flag-waving crowd,” Trump supporter Greg Aselbekian told Scrippsnews.com.
“We still support President Trump, and it’s just another day to celebrate him and let him know that we have his back.”
Trump waved to the crowd and sent his supporters free MAGA hats, Scripps reported.
Presumably he didn’t stop and ask for financial help, but his campaign
team has been busily doing just that, according to USA Today.
“Trump raised over $4 million in the 24 hours since the news of his indictment broke,” according to a statement from his presidential campaign.
In the hours after Trump’s indictment was made public, his campaign sent out fundraising emails asking for donations to stop what he called the “witch hunt.”
On the flip side, Trump wasn’t alone in exploiting his indictment for money.
Along with Trump, both his Republican allies and Democratic critics are fundraising off of his indictment.
Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, who was just elected in the 2022 midterm elections, sent out a fundraising email on Thursday evening asking supporters to donate and “step up for President Trump and put America First.”
It wasn’t just Republicans.
“Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, who is running for California’s soon-to-be open Senate seat in 2024, sent an email also on Thursday evening asking for donations ‘to help us prepare for Trump’s inevitable attacks – and ensure we defend the rule of law,” the newspaper reported.

'You should sit this one out': George Santos blasted for demanding the DOJ investigate Hunter Biden
April 01, 2023
Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who is known for fabricating his resume, is urging the Department of Justice to investigate Hunter Biden.
The congressman is currently under multiple federal and criminal investigations, according to TIME, and has been asked to resign from his position by several colleagues and constituents.
Santos tweeted Saturday, "The DOJ has had 2+ years to build a strong case against Hunter Biden and many members of the Biden family. Instead the weaponized justice system is going after conservatives with political bias. If they can do it to Trump imagine what they can do to us?"
Twitter users immediately implored the lying lawmaker to worry about his own probes.
@CDeanneRowe: "Notice @Santos4Congress has turned off the comments on his tweets. He’s the last person who should be going after the DOJ."
@STOPVickie: "Hopefully they can take you to prison."
Ryan T. Loy: "Zero credibility coming from a guy whose mom died twice"
@diamondstar62: "The pathological liar says what?"
@A_Minassian: "This is what happens when you don't hold people accountable. Grifters and frauds like Santos feel more emboldened."
@imamandajo: "Oh sweetie, you should sit this one out."
Jeff Mayers: "You really want to go there? Given your well documented history?"
@WalshJackMD: "You've got a trail of things to be worried about."
@paulwiggins: "Can't think of a single reason why Mr Santos would be concerned about a fraud investigation."
Ken Pisani: "Imagine pretending this was an original thought, what kind of complete fraud would OH NEVER MIND."

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came to Long Island, New York, to sign books Saturday – and was met by Trump supporters.
Kristin Thorne, a WABC Channel 7 reporter, posted two Tweets with video: The first showed pro-Trump supporters arriving at the event, while the second was captioned “Oh boy. Things are heating up. Trump supporters vs DeSantis supporters.”
Aside from some shouting, there was no physical confrontation seen in the video. But if Trump supporters wanted to make themselves known at DeSantis’ expense, they succeeded, albeit mildly.
There was this from CBS New York: “Some Trump supporters were outside the museum Saturday to protest DeSantis, waving flags and signs that read “DeSantis go home” and driving a caravan through the parking lot.”
“We’re supporting the fact that Donald Trump should be our next president in 2024, not Ron DeSantis. It’s not his time,” Joanne Wong said.
“Ron DeSantis 2028. Jump on the train, but wait your turn,” another Trump supporter said.
Many said they also support DeSantis, but they want to see Trump get re-elected first.
The speech itself was less confrontational, Thorne Tweeted.
“DeSantis talks Trump without talking Trump. He blasted Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg to which he got a standing ovation.”
