Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to be in New York to protest 'witch hunt' arrest of Trump
March 31, 2023
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Friday vowed to travel to New York to protest against the indictment and arrest of former President Donald Trump.
"I’m going to New York on Tuesday," the Georgia congresswoman wrote on Twitter. "We MUST protest the unconstitutional WITCH HUNT!"
Earlier this month, Trump demanded that his supporters take to the streets to protest what he claimed was his imminent arrest.
These protests were largely a bust, however, and often protesters were actually outnumbered by reporters who were sent to cover them.

That might change with Greene leading the charge, however, as she is the first elected official to follow Trump's call to organize protests against his indictment for allegedly making illegal hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
While it's not clear how many people will join Greene's call to protest against the former president's arrest, she is at least likely to be joined by members of the New York Young Republican Club, which this week reacted to news of Trump's indictment by putting out a statement that spoke of Trump as almost a religious figure rather than a politician.
"President Trump embodies the American people — our psyche from id to super-ego — as does no other figure; his soul is totally bonded with our core values and emotions, and he is our total and indisputable champion," said the statement. "This tremendous connection threatens the established order."

'Squealing like a pig': Paul Begala flattens conservatives whining that Trump indictment is 'political'
March 31, 2023
Democratic strategist Paul Begala fired back at GOP campaign adviser Alice Stewart on CNN Friday morning after she complained that the indictment of Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg looks like a "political" stunt designed to derail his third presidential bid.
Sitting on a panel with host Jim Sciutto, Stewart said she didn't want to defend Trump but said the indictment nonetheless looks partisan.
"I am hardly here to defend Donald Trump and the merits of this case, but when you step back and look at the overall narrative of what Donald Trump has been saying, and telling Republicans, that the judicial system is unfair, and there was an unequal system of justice for political adversaries," Stewart remarked.
"This plays right into what Donald Trump is saying and what a lot of his supporters believe."
"Look, no one would rather Donald Trump get off of the political stage sooner than myself, but this is not the way to do it," she insisted.
"Let the voters decide this. And when you have Bragg campaigning and vowing that he is going to take down Donald Trump, this right here, what we're seeing here just plays into what many people are saying is the weaponization of the legal system to attack a political adversary and really to advance a political agenda. That's the way Republicans are seeing it, and they are doubling down on this."
"Are those the facts?" host Sciuto asked Begala.
"No!" Begala shot back. "If they were every one of those Republican politicians needs to be asked this what did you say when Michael Cohen was prosecuted for the same crime? You know who prosecuted Michael Cohen? Not a partisan DA in New York. The Trump Justice Department, the Trump-selected US attorney for the Southern District of New York."
"The Trump administration indicted Mr. Cohen for the same operative facts -- indicted him, convicted him with a guilty plea and incarcerated him," he continued. "Now they're squealing like a pig stuck under a gate. But if there is one system of justice if you're going to indict Bonnie bonnie, you've got to indict Clyde."
"Now. I'm not a big fan of this case, actually, I'm not," he admitted. "I think it's far more consequential what he's alleged to have done wrong in Georgia, allegedly pressuring people to turn over the election."
He later added, "f all those distinguished republican politicians had said the same thing when the same case was brought against Michael Cohen by the Trump administration, they'd have a little credibility."

A man was taken down hard by security guards after he ran onto the field at Dodgers Stadium for a marriage proposal during the team’s 8-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Opening Day.
Videos circulating social media show a man identified in news reports as Ricardo Juarez jumping over the outfield wall and running onto center field, getting down on one knee, and hoisting a ring in the air as the crowd cheered.
Soon after, a security guard slammed into him at full speed. During the impact, the security guard's shoulder seems to make direct contact with the side of Juarez's face.
In a post to Instagram, Juarez revealed that his bride-to-be "said YES." His girlfriend, Ramona Saavedra, confirmed in a separate post that the two are indeed engaged.
“Tad bit extreme but he’s a LEO,” she joked in her caption.
