Wisconsin’s Republican State Sen. Glenn Grothman called protesters in the Capitol “slobs” for demonstrating against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget plan, which strips the collective bargaining rights of public employee unions. The Capitol is “becoming a pigsty,” he said, claiming the protesters were largely “college students having a fun party.”
Grothman appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell” Tuesday night opposite Democratic State Rep. Cory Mason to discuss the ongoing stand-off.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg surged in a poll of Iowa released Saturday night.
The poll, by Des Moines Register, CNN and Mediacom, showed major movement in the race.
"Since September, Buttigieg has risen 16 percentage points among Iowa’s likely Democratic caucusgoers, with 25% now saying he is their first choice for president. For the first time in the Register’s Iowa Poll, he bests rivals Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who are now clustered in competition for second place and about 10 percentage points behind the South Bend, Indiana, mayor," the newspaper reported.

"Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver and current radio host on the conservative 710 KNUS, was taken off the air midshow Saturday after replaying an old interview clip in which he expressed hesitations about President Donald Trump," The Denver Post reported Saturday.
