"Countdown with Keith Olbermann" is returning to the airwaves, courtesy of Current TV. According to an announcement by the former MSNBC news anchor, the program will air its first episode on Monday, June 20, at 8 p.m. EST.

"The show will combine familiar and popular features with some new elements that we can’t wait to unveil," Current CEO Mark Rosenthal said in a media advisory. "We’re creating a great platform for Keith’s style, which includes a very sophisticated digital presence for him -- that we think will appeal to his very enthusiastic and active following."

In a special video posted to his blog Tuesday morning, Olbermann joked that "the Dude, as it were, abides," and assured viewers that his agreement with Current TV will see him retain complete editorial control over his show.
