SNL’s takedown of the budget deal
Though the government is still open, and federal workers both essential and non will still be receiving their paychecks this week, not everyone is pleased with the agreement lawmakers reached minutes before the Friday midnight deadline.
Saturday Night Live’s opener this week imagined what President Barack Obama would tell the country about the deal — if he were to be totally straightforward.
“In a true example of compromise, I am pleased to say: No one got everything he wanted, and everyone walked away unhappy,” intones Fred Armisen as the president.
