Plot to attack New York City synagogues thwarted
Two Muslims of North African descent have been arrested for trying to buy guns and grenades to attack synagogues in Manhattan.
The plan is not thought to be retaliation for Osama bin Laden’s killing because it was already underway at the time of his death.
The men will be charged under the anti-terror laws of New York State. Federal prosecutors declined to pursue separate charges.
