Susan Saladoff, director of the documentary "Hot Coffee," discussed on MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show Monday how large corporations used a seemingly "frivolous" lawsuit against McDonalds to push for tort reform laws.

"What happens is that if [corporations] can distort the facts and convince the public that the system is broken, then they're willing to reform it," Saladoff said, "which most people think is a good thing, except it means taking rights away from us and giving more money into the hands of corporations."
