Reps. Hoyer and Ryan reach across aisle, agree on scandal
Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) don’t often agree on political issues, but on Sunday morning’s “Face the Nation,” the united on one issue: Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) must resign in the face of scandal.
“Well, forcing him out will require a process but this is bizarre, unacceptable behavior,” Hoyer, the second-highest ranking Democrat in the House, said.
Ryan suggested that Weiner resign, instead of submitting to a lengthy Ethics Committee investigation. (Some of Weiner’s photos show his office in the background, and the latest leaked photos show the congressman flexing in what appears to be the congressional gym.)
“It would take a little while for this process to go through,” Ryan said. “This would take time. I think the fastest best way is for Anthony to resign.
