Tracy Morgan joins GLAAD for public apology over homophobic rant
At a press conference with the gay and lesbian group GLAAD, comedian Tracy Morgan offered another sincere apology for a homophobic rant he delivered during a recent performance in Nashville, Tenn.
“I don’t really see gay or straight, I just see human beings now,” he said. “I pride myself on 18 years of stand-up, using comedy to heal people and not hurt, that was my whole thing. I hurt people with this. So, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize to everybody who I offended with my words on stage, in Nashville and everywhere else.
“To err is human, but to forgive is divine,” he continued. These young people here forgave me. … Thank you for your support. I just want to take this opportunity to help and not hurt.”
