The battle to legalize gay marriage in New York stretched on for years before finally being legalized 30 days ago. Given the drawn-out debate and heavy opposition from some conservative groups, law enforcement officers expected protesters outside of city halls on Sunday -- the first day that marriage licenses were issued to same-sex couples.
The police officers were wrong, however: Only one protester picketed outside New York City Hall. Watch his yells be ignored by passers-by in the clip below, embedded via YouTube.
