Nebraska attorney general compares welfare recipients to hungry raccoons
Employing a confusing metaphor initially intended to argue against environmental regulations, Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning (R) wound up comparing welfare recipients to raccoons scavenging for insects.
Bruning is widely considered among the top contenders to replace Nebraska’s retiring Democrat Sen. Ben Nelson.
