Revealed: Public utility company paid $5,000 for dinner with Gov. Perry
A public utility company in San Antonio, Texas was caught recently making a political donation to the state’s Republican Party, in exchange for a ticket to a fundraising dinner that was attended by Gov. Rick Perry and other top officials.
The donation came from CPS Energy, the public electric utility in San Antonio, which drew the $5,000 directly from public funds. It was discovered by reporter Brian Collister, during an examination of the company’s expense reports.
