CNN host Wolf Blitzer on Monday asked Independent Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont what he thought about Congressman Ron Paul's claim that the nation was better off before the existence of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

"All they do is come in and tell you what to do and can't do," Paul said over the weekend.

"I have known Ron Paul for many years, I like Ron Paul, but on these issues he is completely out to lunch, and I would suggest he come to Vermont, talk to people who are really hurting, who need help," Sanders said. "We are a nation. We are not 50 individual states."

"Vermont stands with other states when they're in trouble, and other states stand with us. That's what being a nation is about."
