Wisconsin voters express mixed feelings about recall elections
Voters in the western Wisconsin town of Hudson spoke to The UpTake on Tuesday about their feelings regarding the recall election.
Six Republican state senators were recalled after supporting Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s controversial “budget repair bill,” which stripped nearly all collective bargaining rights from public employees.
One presumably Republican voter said the recall election was a waste of money and that Gov. Walker was just doing the job he was elected to do. Others described the election as “silly” and “ridiculous.”
Many were enthusiastic about the elections. One voter said the recall was a great idea and described Gov. Walker as a “puppet”
“I don’t want to live in a kingdom”, another said. “I want to live in a democracy.”
