Consumer advocate Ralph Nader said Thursday on CNN that Sarah Palin should be commended for recent speeches in which she was critical of corporations' influence on the government.

"Judging by her comments, she is squarely in the camp of conservative populism, opposed to corporatism and its corporate state," Nader previously told Salon.

"I didn't say I liked her," he clarified Thursday on CNN.

"There isn't anyone else in the Republican primary, with the possible exception of Ron Paul, who is talking about big business controlling our political economy and our government in Washington. And she ought to be commended for that," Nader said.
