International Brotherhood of Teamsters President James Hoffa called Apple Inc. and other big American businesses "unpatriotic" on Sunday morning for placing jobs overseas instead of in America.
Appearing on CNN's State of the Union, Hoffa told host Candy Crowley that when the tech giant does something, "They do it in China, they do it somewhere else."
“We owe an obligation to America," he said. "Let’s put America back to work.”
Hoffa also thought that more attention should be placed on what American businesses should do to help revitalize the economy instead of the president's or Congress' plans.
"Labor needs everyone to be in the game," he said. "Everyone is saying, 'What Obama needs to do?" And what obligation does American business have? They're sitting on trillions of dollars right now. They're not spending money. We've lost 8 million jobs since '08, and we have to start challenging them to get in the game."
