Priests, monks brawl in Bethlehem church

Published

on

Instead of a peaceful gathering during the holiday season, some religious figures engaged in a contentious scene inside the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem on Wednesday morning.

According to the Associated Press, almost 100 Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic priests clashed inside the church, swinging brooms at each other.

Both groups fought over space during the cleaning of the church for Orthodox Christians celebrations in January. The fight was broken up by Palestinian police using batons and shields.

Ex-Reagan adviser nails why white evangelicals flock to Trump in devastating takedown of fake Christians

Published

Why do evangelicals — or at least, white ones — love President Donald Trump so much? Why do they stick by a president who has barely even read the Bible, has defiled marriage, and embodies the antithesis of so much of what their churches preach? Why, according to polls, did they essentially decide overnight that it's no longer important for a president to have strong personal morals to be an effective leader?

Trump biographer drops the hammer on the president in epic rant: ‘He’s a bigot’

On MSNBC's "Up with David Gura," Bloomberg News executive editor and MSNBC commentator Tim O'Brien laid into President Donald Trump's racist attacks on Democratic women of color.

As O'Brien pointed out, the proof that the president is a racist lies not just in what he said, but how he responded to public anger over it.

"There's a hesitance to call it what it is, and there shouldn't be any hesitation," said O'Brien, who authored TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald. "The president is a racist. The president is a bigot. By any standard we use to decide whether or not someone is acting is a racist. He ticks off every single one of those boxes ... It's in the fact pattern. There's a long history of this from him that predated his arrival in the White House."

Nazis ‘feed off of’ Trump’s statements: MSNBC law enforcement analyst warns of the president inciting violence

Published

An MSNBC law enforcement analyst warned of President Donald Trump inciting violence with his racist targeting of women of color in Congress.

Anchor Joy Reid interviewed Jim Cavanaugh, a retired ATF special agent-in-charge on Friday evening's "The Last Word."

"So those threats beginning about two years ago, increases in white nationalist activity. Have you ever heard of these kinds of increases in hate and potential hate crimes being tied to a president of the United States?" Reid asked.

"No," he replied. "That’s very, very unusual, Joy, to have that happen."

"You know, when you get more power, your words carry more weight. When you get into this undercurrent of the Nazis and the white nationalists and the klansmen, they feed off of this. They feed off of public figures -- on the regular media, in the government, congressmen, senators, the president -- saying the things they always say," he explained. "It bolsters them. It gives them strength and power."
