Warren Buffett serenades China with ukulele performance
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett isn’t the first person you’d think of when ukulele performances become the topic of conversation. Nevertheless, the 81-year-old appeared during a Chinese New Year broadcast aired Sunday, playing his ukulele and singing “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.”
The video was apparently recorded over a year ago and only just released after Buffett gave his permission. The billionaire has a cult-like following in China among businessmen who hope to emulate his investment strategies. The New Year gala aired on Sunday was part of a much longer presentation put on by state television.
It’s not the first time Buffett has shown off his musical talents: In a video shot at the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ meeting in 2008, Buffett joined the Quebe Sisters Band for a performance of “Red River Valley.”
This video is from the annual Spring Festival TV gala put on by China’s CCTV.
