Fox News’ host Bill O’Reilly decided to align himself with Rush Limbaugh in attacking Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke Friday evening, claiming she wanted the school to provide money for her own personal life.
“This sense of entitlement I don’t understand because I wasn’t raised that way,” O’Reilly said. “Like okay, I have a social life, people. Have a social life people, and I want you to pay for it, okay. And I go, ‘What?'”
“I went to college, I didn’t have any money Sandra, I didn’t have any money. Somehow, I got by. Somehow, I painted houses so I could buy whatever I had to buy. But not for Sandra. No! She wants it covered by the government.”
O’Reilly’s mocking attack on Fluke is totally incorrect. Instead of asking for her “social life” to be paid for, Fluke is advocating for Georgetown to cover contraception under its insurance plan after her friend required it to stop the growth of ovarian cysts she developed.
