A Colorado archeologist made some startling discoveries in her backyard's outhouse this past weekend, finding parts to a Model-T car, alcohol bottles from the Prohibition Era, and a syringe.

Rebecca Schwendler of Lafayette, Colorado told 9News about the many artifacts she uncovered, including something even from the 19th century's Victorian Era.

"Here there's a syringe," Schwendler said. "That's probably from some kind of self medication, using opiates of some kind. Heroin, maybe."

While it maybe a surprise to most, Schwendler thought she would encounter some unique findings from her outhouse.

"You can find a lot of interesting things," she said. "I think most people have no idea that you can find artifacts in an outhouse."
