Former vice presidential candidate and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards (D), will receive the verdict in a trial that investigates whether his 2008 presidential campaign improperly funneled money to his mistress.

Edwards faces six counts of campaign finance violations. ABC News is reporting that, if convicted, he could serve up to 30 years in prison.

Update (5/31/12 at 3:10 p.m. Eastern): The Associated Press reports that the jury reached a verdict on one count, but that they hadn't reached a verdict on the other counts. The verdict was not announced.
