Openly gay music artist Adam Lambert lashed out Sunday afternoon at the anti-gay group One Million Moms for their latest opposition to retail giant JC Penney using the LGBT community for its advertisements.
One Million Moms announced their opposition earlier this week to JC Penney new Father’s Day ad that displayed a male couple with their children. The ad reads: “First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He’s the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver — all rolled into one. Or two.”
The organization, which is apart of the American Family Association, release a statement about their disapproval with JC Penney ad.
“It is obvious that JCP would rather take sides than remain neutral in the culture war,” the statement said. “JCP will hear from the other side so they need to hear from us as well. Our persistence will pay off! We must remain diligent and stand up for Biblical values and truth.”
Their response prompted Lambert, who became famous for finishing second in the season eight edition of American Idol to say on his Twitter account, “Fuck One Million Moms, hateful bigots.”
One Millions Moms earlier this year launched a campaign against JC Penney for the store using popular and openly gay talk show Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson.
