Former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi hit it off on Thursday after they crossed paths during an interview on NBC's Tonight Show.
"Whaddup?" Snooki asked Gingrich after giving him a fist bump.
"Newt seems mystified by this whole conversation," host Jay Leno noted.
"I've seen clips of Jersey Shore," Gingrich said. "I've seen some interviews when you did your first book. Congratulations on having two New York Times best sellers."
"I'm trying to be like you," Snooki replied.
The Jersey Shore star explained that she was planning big bachelor and bachelorette parties before marrying fiance Jionni LaValle.
"I feel like the guys should have strippers. You're going to be married to the same girl your whole life, so enjoy it," she said before turning to Gingrich and asking, "Did you have strippers?"
"No," Gingrich lamented. "I feel now like in some way my life has been deprived."
Snooki later said it would be "awesome" if Gingrich would guest star on Jersey Shore and "drink 'Ron-Ron' juice and stuff."
"Do you drink?" Leno asked.
"Sometimes," Gingrich admitted.
"Good for you!" Snooki exclaimed.
"When's the last time you just got wasted?" Leno wondered.
"Thinking about coming on this show," Gingrich quipped.
But clearly the two formed a bond because Gingrich's wife, Callista, tweeted a picture of her and Snooki wearing matching yellow outfits while the reality star flashed a peace sign.
"Miss Yewwww and your sexy wife! MWAH," Snooki tweeted to Gingrich later that evening.
