Christian music star Randy Travis’s troubles continued this week after police in the Dallas suburb of Plano said he was cited for assault after intervening in a friend’s argument with her husband.
Nobody was hurt, but police told The Associated Press that Travis and his unnamed accomplice were still charged with Class C misdemeanors, otherwise known as simple assault. It’s not yet clear exactly what he did.
Travis was found drunk and naked in the middle of a rural Texas highway north of Dallas earlier this month after apparently wrecking his vehicle. He was later arrested for driving while intoxicated, after which police said he threatened to shoot them, incurring an additional felony.
The longtime country crooner turned Christian music sensation was divorced by his wife and former producer in 2010, and the two have since filed lawsuits against each other.
