Yauch estate: Beastie Boy’s music banned from advertising
A will filed this week by relatives of the deceased hip hop artist Adam Yauch, formerly of The Beastie Boys, forever bans his work from being used in corporate advertising.
‘Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes,” his will reads, according to Rolling Stone.
Yauch’s will also left $6.4 million to his wife and daughter.
The 47-year-old New Yorker, know to fans as “MCA,” died in May after being diagnosed with cancer in 2009.
