Fans of the NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation" (and despite the show's dismal ratings, we know there are some) might be excited to see the actors demonstrate the art of the "humblebrag" for Funny or Die.
Actors Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt and Adam Scott all said they're too busy to help staffer Harris Wittels promote his new book on the term that Urban Dictonary defines as, "Subtly letting others now about how fantastic your life is while undercutting it with a bit of self-effacing humor or 'woe is me' gloss."
"Oh dang it. I would love to but I've got to run to the store for some undershorts," Nick Offerman, better known as Ron Swanson, explained. "I just broke my last pair of underwear with my dong."
"If you don't mind shutting the door on your way out, I've got to take a phone call with Quentin Tarantino," Offerman continued.
When Wittels turned to Chris Pratt, who plays Andy, he responded, "Oh, god, no, I can't. I'm sorry. I have to take my Bugatti into the shop. For something so expensive, god, does it break down a lot."
Pratt went on to explain that paparazzi was Italian for "flies buzzing around a piece of shit. I guess that makes me a piece of shit, huh?"
Adam Scott aslo demurred, saying he had to go to the hospital because "it's this young kid's dying wish to meet me." He explained that "being famous is cool and stuff," but then rolled his eyes.
Witteles respond, "I understand, actually. I started this Twitter account and I amassed so many followers that they wanted me to write a book. Now I have to do press and promo and it was just like this little fun thing. I just want to be an artist."
