During an appearance Wednesday on CNN, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein spoke out against the deeply-entrenched two party system in the United States

"The distinction between them [Democrats and Republicans] are far too small," she said. "They want to debate the minutia of the tax code, rather than the fact that we are giving away the store in trillions of tax breaks to the wealthy, in wars for oil we don't need, and in bail-outs for Wall Street... that's not even in the discussion."

Stein said the debate between Democrats and Republicans also ignored important issues like free trade agreements, addressing climate change, and student debt.

"I am basically in this to ensure that every day people have a voice in this election and a choice at the polls that is not bought and paid for by Wall Street," she added.

Stein and her running mate Cheri Honkala were arrested on Tuesday afternoon to protest their exclusion from this year’s presidential debates.
