While the future for cross-country high-speed rail in America is questionable, one company is working on a specialized kind of rail service: a “party train” linking San Bernadino County in California to Las Vegas, Nev., reported Newsy.
The Las Vegas Railway Express has signed an agreement with Union Pacific to use Union-Pacific’s tracks for the train, which will feature amenities like TVs, lounges, and private cars which can be used for bachelor parties.
Tickets will cost $99 each way, and the company hopes to operate the first ride on New Year’s Eve in 2013.
The train will be the first passenger train to use the tracks since 1998.
