Joe W. Rogers, the CEO of Waffle House, claimed Tuesday that he did not rape his former housekeeper, insisting that she participated in consensual sexual encounters and is now trying to blackmail him.

The woman, who has not been identified, reportedly told the Atlanta police that she was forced to have sex with Rogers in his home while she worked there as a housekeeper. She also sued him after he refused settlement, and he sued her back, but those documents are sealed by court order.

However, The Associated Press noted that a judge has lifted a gag order on the case, letting him publicly dispute the allegations.

"I am a victim of my own stupidity, but I am not going to be a victim of a crime — extortion," Rogers reportedly said.

"We understand he's obviously trying to spin his wrongful actions in some positive light," David Cohen, the woman's attorney, reportedly explained. "We believe attempting to attack the victim will only make matters worse and that the parties just need to let a jury decide the issues."

A hearing in the case was set for Wednesday.
