Thursday morning on "Fox and Friends," the cast of the musical "Scooby Doo Live" appeared to promote the touring show and to systematically destroy your happy childhood memories of watching cartoons.
"Who can forget these meddlin' kids and their lovable dog, too?" asked host Steve Doocy. "And they always managed to solve a mystery by the end of the show. Today, the 'Scooby Doo' crew is back solving crimes, on stage."
Doocy and co-hosts Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade were joined by actors portraying Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby Doo. After a bit of awkward back-and-forth that included the actress playing Daphne saying the group has been "solvering" mysteries coast-to-coast, Doocy asked the cast to perform a song.
"You know, how many times have we said to ourselves on the curvy couch, 'Hey, I wish we had those guys from that show on to do a musical number'?" he said.
"Every day," interjected Kilmeade.
"Well, let's get out of the way!" said Doocy.
The five cast members then performed a version of the "Scooby Doo, Where are You?" theme song that was so off, somehow, so awful and cringe-inducingly weird that we at the Raw Story Terrible Show Tunes desk fully expect to be trying to wipe the memory of it from our minds for the rest of our natural lives.
