Police search for Pittsburgh man who allegedly set girlfriend on fire
Pittsburgh police launched a manhunt on Thursday for a man who allegedly lit his girlfriend on fire during a domestic dispute, according to KDKA-TV.
Police say the argument between Clinton Cohen, 27, and Maria Redman, 22, erupted Thursday morning in Redman’s apartment. During the scuffle, which took place in front of the couple’s 3-month-old daughter, Cohen allegedly “choked, hit, and punched her about the head and face,” police said.
Then he allegedly took out a bottle of perfume, poured it on Redman, lit her on fire and left the apartment. He apparently threw a blanket on Redman before leaving, not stopping to see whether the blaze had been extinguished.
Police say Cohen’s criminal history is “extensive” and he’s a danger to the public as long as he’s at-large. Redman suffered severe burns on her upper body and head and remains in critical condition, according to KDKA-TV.
