In the latest installment of her "Ask Amy" webseries, Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler took a moment to reassure a young viewer that it was okay to allow herself to disconnect in light of recent events.

"I don't know if this makes any sense," Poehler said in response to the viewer, Millie. "This has been a weird week, hasn't it? So thanks, Millie, and I love you, Boston."

Millie, who said in her letter to Poehler that she was 16 years old, asked how she could "spread better messages" instead of getting drawn into online videos that were attention-getting but otherwise didn't mean much.

But watching hard-to-take images due to the news of the past few days, Poeher said, had turned the question of what to watch on the Internet into asking oneself how to stay informed without exploiting others, or committing self-harm.

"I don't know," the Newton, Massachusetts native and Boston College graduate admitted. "It's been tough, hasn't it? Doesn't it feel like we're just bombarded with stuff now, that everywhere we go there's just some picture that's worse than the one before?"
