The 30 Rock actor threatens a Daily Mail writer who accused his pregnant wife of posting self-promotional tweets while attending James Gandolfini’s funeral
Alec Baldwin has deleted his Twitter account for the third time after threatening to “fuck up” a Daily Mail reporter who accused his wife of posting a series of upbeat tweets during the funeral of James Gandolfini.
Hilaria Baldwin has since denied a report on the newspaper’s website that suggested she tweeted to request ideas for a wedding anniversary present and to encourage fans to watch her on the Rachael Ray Show as friends and family were saying goodbye to the Sopranos star. In comments captured by Buzzfeed and other sites prior to their deletion, her husband wrote: “Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That’s not true. But I’m gonna tweet at your funeral.”
Citing the name of the offending article’s author, he wrote: “George Stark, you lying little bitch. I am gonna f%#@ you up … I want all of my followers and beyond to straighten out this fucking little bitch, George Stark. @MailOnline … My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this fucking trash … If put my foot up your fucking ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much … I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna fuck…you…up.”
Shortly before apparently deleting his account, Baldwin wrote: “How much of this shit are people supposed to take? With these fucking blatant lies EVERY DAY?” He then added: “My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friends funeral. Now, fuck this twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth.”
Baldwin is infamous for losing his temper in spectacular fashion. The actor was caught on tape calling his 11-year-old daughter a “rude, thoughtless little pig” during a phone call in 2007. He was accused of using a racist epithet during an argument with a New York photographer in February, though the actor denied the claims. Baldwin previously deleted his account in December 2011 following a row with American Airlines over his refusal to stop playing the phone game Words With Friends during a flight. He then deleted a second account shortly after marrying Hilaria in June last year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Hilaria, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, later took to her own Twitter account to deny suggestions of any inappropriate behaviour at Gandolfini’s New York funeral. The yoga instructor wrote: “Here is some info… When someone tweets something at a certain time, and you retweet it later, it posts the TIME the first person tweeted.”
She added: “I don’t know what hurts more: people randomly and maliciously writing lies about you, or the people who actually believe them. I don’t believe in bringing phones into a funeral and I never did and I never would.”
At the funeral, Sopranos creator David Chase delivered a heartfelt and eloquent eulogy to his late friend, which was subsequently posted in full on the Hitfix site. Gandolfini died of a heart attack on 19 June in Italy.
