An explosion in a maintenance shed at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has knocked out power to at least one passenger concourse and stranded travelers. According to Atlanta's Fox 5 News, the early morning explosion knocked out power to the airport's Concourse D.
Currently, there are no official reports of injuries, but emergency vehicles and TSA personnel are reportedly on the scene.
Fox 5 reported that airport officials claim to have evacuated Concourse D, but stranded traveler Kris Simmons Roney said to Raw Story via text message, "Huh. Good to know we've been evacuated."
Roney said that while some workers appear to have gone off duty in the center section of the concourse, passengers and airport staff are still waiting at their gates in semi-darkness on the building's north and south sides.
