Jon Stewart: Crack-smoking Toronto mayor is a ‘one-man episode of COPS’
Even if the implementation of the Affordable Care Act continues to sputter, Jon Stewart said on The Daily Show Thursday night, it’s not outright careening from crisis to crisis like Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.
Stewart did make sure to mock Obama for his latest assurance that healthcare.gov would be working “much better” by the end of November. (“Let me be clear: When I said, ‘end of November,’ I did not say which November.”)
“But of course, for every cloud, there is a silver lining,” Stewart noted. “Certainly the rollout for the president’s signature legislative accomplishment has been rocky. But at least it has not been mayor of Toronto rocky.”
As he recapped the ongoing saga involving Ford, Stewart was aghast at Ford’s Thursday morning denial of a Toronto Sun report saying he was spotted in his City Hall office with a woman suspected of being a prostitute before drinking and driving to a local restaurant.
“This f*cking guy is a one-man episode of COPS,” Stewart said.
But the rest of the story, he continued, “pales in comparison” to the way Ford denied asking a staff member if he could “eat her pus*y” because, being happily married, Ford argued, he had “more than enough to eat at home.”
“Somewhere, in a basement through his tears, Anthony Weiner is going, ‘What the f*ck?'” Stewart marveled after spinning around in his chair yelling “what?” for a few seconds.
