Reporter thrown out of Marjorie Taylor Greene town hall by sheriff's deputies after trying to ask a question

    Matthew Chapman
    January 27, 2021

On Thursday, WCRB reporter Meredith Aldis attended the Dalton town hall of freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) — and was promptly threatened with arrest by Whitfield County deputies and thrown out of the premises when she tried to ask a question.

Before being ejected, Aldis reported that Greene railed against her chamber as the "House of Hypocrites," and vowed to press on with her doomed push to impeach President Joe Biden for vague and unspecified abuses of power.

Kevin McCarthy doesn’t run the Republican caucus anymore — the QAnon members do: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

    Sarah K. Burris
    January 27, 2021

Not one Republican has condemned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she called for the execution of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama and spread conspiracy theories that Sept. 11 was an "inside job" and school shootings were "false flags." Instead, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) put her on the Education Committee in the House. Democrats are taking another route.

Speaking to MSNBC's Chris Hayes on Wednesday night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that it has become clear that McCarthy is not in control of the GOP caucus, the Republican Party belongs to QAnon now.

'Radioactive' Trump properties plummet in price as New Yorkers reject his brand: report

    Matthew Chapman
    January 27, 2021

On Wednesday, Business Insider reported that Donald Trump's properties in New York City are plummeting in value, as locals reject any association with the former president.

"UrbanDigs — which looked at the seven luxury buildings in Manhattan that still bear the Trump moniker, and three that used to — found that even properties that formerly had Trump in their names lost 17% of their value since 2016. By comparison, the overall price per square foot decline in Manhattan over the same period was just 9%," reported Juliana Kaplan. "In 2016, the average price per square foot in seven NYC properties run by his real-estate behemoth, the Trump Organization, was $3,346, according to the report. In 2017, following Trump's election and inauguration, that figure sunk to $1,903; by 2020, it was at $1,619. That's a drop of 51% from its 2016 price."
