Sheriff’s deputies in Utah arrested a man named Christopher Reeves on drug and drunken driving charges while wearing a Superman T-shirt.
A spokeswoman for the Davis County sheriff’s office noted the similarity of the suspect’s name to the late actor Christopher Reeve, who played the comic book superhero in movies.
The 33-year-old Reeves was stopped about 3 a.m. Tuesday for weaving and speeding over 80 mph through traffic on Interstate 15.
A deputy said Reeves failed field sobriety tests, and a K-9 unit detected drugs and drug paraphernalia inside his car.
Deputies said they found spice synthetic marijuana and 52 grams of methamphetamine – about the size of a baseball – during a search.
Reeves, who deputies described as a “frequent flier” suspect, was charged with one count each of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, driving under the influence, speeding, unsafe lane travel, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remains held on $15,000 bond.
