A columnist for the anti-LGBT website BarbWire added her two cents to the discussion about how much responsibility women should bear for their own sexual assaults.
Gina Miller dismissed the recent development of a nail polish that can detect the presence of some odorless, colorless, and incapacitating “date rape” drugs slipped into drinks as “a handy tool for our Godless, sex-obsessed, ‘modern’ culture.”
She blamed “political correctness” and permissive attitudes about sex for creating a “victimhood” mentality in women who trenchantly noted a market might exist for such a product, reported Right Wing Watch.
“Do women ever bear any responsibility for putting themselves in potentially dangerous places and situations, like drunken frat parties?” Miller wondered. “Do they bear no responsibility for the outrageous ‘fashions’ they choose to wear nowadays, clothing that makes them look like prostitutes and porn ‘stars,’ clothing that arguably feeds the ‘rape culture’?”
She conceded that men who rape women are “always wrong,” but she said women should not expect men to treat them with “dignity and honor” if they present themselves “in a hyper-sexual, sleazy way.”
“Can it be argued that a woman dressed like a strumpet, yet saying ‘no’ to unwanted sexual advances, sends a mixed message?” Miller asked. “Yes, I know it’s outrageous, but this is what our Godless culture has wrought.”
She said shielding victims from blame would not end rape, and she said it was pointless to teach men that rape is wrong because most of them “already know that it’s wrong to sexually assault another person.”
“Our nation has turned its back on God,” Miller said. “We have kicked Him out of our schools and out of the public square. We have raised several generations of Godless, self-centered, sex-obsessed kids, and the truth is that there can be no positive transformation of any sick culture without the saving power of the Spirit of God through Jesus Christ to change people’s hearts of stone into new hearts of flesh.”
