(Reuters) - A Virginia family of five has been found shot to death in an apparent homicide in Culpeper, Virginia, police said on Monday.
The bodies of three children and two adults, both 35, were discovered by officers late on Sunday inside their house, said Detective Angela Deavers of the Culpeper County Sheriff Office.
A family member called police around 10 p.m. to report a "death scene," she said. All five family members had gunshot wounds and the deaths are being treated as homicides.
Police have no suspect and the family was not identified. Deavers said the public was not at risk.
The Virginia State Police are assisting the sheriff's office with the investigation. Culpeper is a town of about 17,000 people some 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Washington.
