A 47-year-old man from Riviera Beach, Florida is in custody after he called 911 to confess that he had just sexually assaulted a woman who came to him about a cleaning job he posted on Craigslist.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Joel Jones met sheriff's deputies in the street after he made the call.

"I assaulted her," Jones reportedly told officers. "Take me to jail."

Jones asked the woman to meet him at a gas station near the doctors' offices she would purportedly be cleaning. He took the woman inside to look at the rooms, then made a sexual advance toward her.

When the woman tried to leave, police said, Jones grabbed her shirt and held a knife to her throat. He forced her to the floor and assaulted her, then let her go. The woman told police that Jones was calling 911 to report his crime even as she fled the building.

Police said Jones openly cried in shame when deputies arrived. He confessed to "tricking" the woman into meeting him and admitted that he had "brutally raped" her. He asked officers to note in their report that the crime was fully premeditated and planned.

The confessed rapist was taken to Palm Beach County Jail and charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment and aggravated assault with deadly weapon. He is currently being held without bail.

Jones was convicted of sexual battery and burglary in 1991 and served two years of a six-year sentence. According to the Post, he also served eight years of a 12-year sentence for second degree murder.
