A Tennessee woman accidentally shot her baby daughter during an argument with her boyfriend.
Police said the woman, whose name was not released, grabbed a 9-mm handgun during a domestic dispute with the child’s father at their Murfreesboro apartment.
She fired a single round at the man, and the same bullet struck both him and the couple’s baby.
The man was struck in the groin, and the bullet then struck the 14-month-old girl, who was several feet away, in the rear end.
The child was treated at an area hospital and is expected to recover.
No information was available about the father’s condition.
Police are still trying to determine whether the woman fired the gun in self-defense, and if not, she faces a possible aggravated assault charge.
